Hoe het allemaal begon
35

How it all began

Between 2007 and 2009, many Venezuelan tourists were visiting Curaçao and hotels were overflowing. Haitham imagined an alternative: a small, homely, comfortable, affordable place near the beach. That vision became Casa Amalia, named after the Venezuelan actress Amalia Pérez Díaz. Later, a Dutch tour operator discovered it; today, Casa Amalia is a beloved place to stay for many Dutch travellers.
